Russian mixed martial arts fighter Alexander Shlemenko explained why he continues to compete in the RCC.
“I have always been interested in performing in the RCC, I perform a lot in the RCC, I won a lot of fights there, I beat serious fighters. I am well received by the RCC public, they know me well there, the truth is I think I am the star of RCC. So I would like to play in the league. I also have a responsibility to those people who came from all over Russia for that fight against Ilic, the people who support me, who saw me on television and it was unpleasant for them to see what they saw. Many of them did not even understand what happened, so I want to correct that situation and show that it was just a misunderstanding,” Shlemenko said in the RCC press service.
Ilic knocked out Shlemenko 22 seconds into the fight at RCC 12 on August 26. In December, the promotion promised to hold a rematch of this fight.
