According to the Russian senator, Duda, at a briefing with Polish journalists in New York, compared Ukraine to a drowning man, capable of dragging those who rescue him to the bottom.
Thus, the Polish leader confirmed Warsaw’s determination to take care of all Polish interests first and then Ukraine, Pushkov wrote on his Telegram channel.
The senator added that this approach clashes with the position of President Vladimir Zelensky, who persistently demonstrates to Western countries that they must sacrifice their interests for the good of Ukraine.
It was previously reported that Duda canceled a meeting with Zelensky on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. According to media reports, their negotiations were of great importance due to tensions that arose between kyiv and Warsaw amid Poland’s extension of the embargo on Ukrainian grain. However, the meeting with Zelensky was removed from Duda’s agenda due to changes in the schedule of other meetings.
