Musk did not specify how much the innovation will cost users of the social network or what other functions will or will not be included in the payment at the lowest level, NBC News reports.
The company’s CEO also revealed some new X metrics, saying that it now has 550 million “monthly users” generating between 100 and 200 million posts per day.
Musk did not reveal how many of the company’s monthly users are real and how many of them are bots. In May 2022, before Musk’s purchase, Twitter reported that its “average monetizable daily active usage” averaged 229 million.
After acquiring Twitter for approximately $44 billion in late October 2022, Musk carried out massive staff cuts and sweeping changes to the platform. He continues to lead the company as its largest shareholder, chief technology officer and executive chairman, and is also the CEO of automaker Tesla and space company SpaceX.
