The tragedy took place on September 16 in an apartment in one of the houses on Academician Korolev Street.
According to authorities, a 60-year-old woman struck her 90-year-old mother, with whom she lived, at least three times in the head with a hammer. As a result of the resulting head trauma, the victim died at the scene.
After the incident, the woman committed suicide.
“Investigative and other procedural actions are currently being carried out in the case aimed at establishing in detail all the circumstances of the incident,” the Investigative Directorate of the Kamchatka Territory clarified.
