Heavy and in some places very heavy rains are expected to hit Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, as well as the Okha, Nogliki, Korsakovsky, Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky, Tymovsky, Smirnykhovsky, Poronaysky, Uglegorsky, Makarovsky, Tomarinsky, Dolinsky, Kholmsky, Nevelsky and Anivsky districts .
“On September 20, sharp increases in the water level in Sakhalin rivers of 50 to 150 centimeters are expected,” notes the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The rescuers sent emergency warnings to the district administrations. They monitor the situation and are prepared to respond quickly to possible emergencies.
