G1: 12 people died in a plane crash in northern Brazil – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

It is reported that an Embraer EMB-110 “Bandeirante” crashed while flying from the state capital of Manaus to Barcelos.

The state Department of Civil Defense said rescuers will be sent to the crash site.

At the same time, according to CNN Brazil, 14 people died as a result of the plane crash. In addition to the 12 passengers, the victims of the accident were 2 crew members.

The tragedy occurred at approximately two in the afternoon local time. The plane was already on the landing line when something went wrong.

The airport is located 400 kilometers from the city of Manaus. At the time of landing, it was raining heavily in the area. Experts say bad weather conditions could have caused the disaster.

Authorities have not yet compiled a list of the dead. It is not yet known if there were foreigners on board the crashed plane.
