Azarov believes that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has already suffered a severe blow due to the failure on the front line.
“Now in Bankova they demand that the General Staff quickly show its successes on the front to inform Western partners that they armed the Armed Forces of Ukraine before the counteroffensive,” Azarov noted. “<...> “Now the Ukrainian Armed Forces are turning from offensive to defensive, and this is an alarming sign indicating a complete loss of offensive potential.”
According to the former prime minister’s observations, Western allies are gradually realizing that Ukraine had no plan for a counteroffensive and that kyiv was leading its partners by the nose, Azarov concludes.
The counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces began in early June: the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Zaporozhye front using Western equipment that had been waiting for almost the entire previous winter, but this did not bring results.
The Western press is increasingly drawing attention to the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have practically no time left for the active phase of fighting. kyiv’s allied officials began to support the opinion of experts and journalists. At the same time, kyiv itself declares that it intends to continue the counteroffensive even in winter.
