The new FIFA, which this year changes its name to EA Sports FC 24, is closer than ever to seeing the light of day. After more than three decades at the hands of FIFA, a new stage begins for the video game company Electronic Arts (EA) in which it will seek to turn its flagship soccer product into the best-selling product of the year. Although the change seems only in name and cover, the truth is that the American company has included numerous improvements and new features compared to its previous versions. The main one is that two different editions are going to go on sale and the first can be purchased this Friday, September 22.
EA Sports FC 24 will go on sale next September 29 for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC. For people who decide to buy the Ultimate Edition version, they will be able to start enjoying the video game a week earlier than those who decide on the basic edition.
This year 2023, in addition to the improvements in graphics, animations and gameplay that are usually incorporated in each new version, new developments have been produced that completely break with the previous brand. Firstly, the change of cover incorporates Erling Haaland as the protagonist, the football rival of Kylian Mbappé, protagonist of the previous edition. Another of the main novelties is the change in the narrators. After 25 years, Manolo Lama and Paco González will not be the narrators of the video game. Miguel Ángel Román and DjMariio will take the baton.
Women’s soccer in video games
But without a doubt the big surprise is in women’s football, which continues to gain prominence both on and off the field of play. For the first time, users will be able to play Ultimate Team with women, the historically star game mode, being able to form mixed teams with male players. Also, player ratings have improved. Again, for the first time, a woman will share the best rating of the game with a footballer. Alexia Putellas, recent world champion with the Spanish team, and Erling Haaland will be the two best players in the video game.
As for the price, the most accessible edition of the game, the standard one, will cost 69.99 euros for Xbox and the Play Station. Somewhat cheaper is the version for the computer, which will have a price 10 euros lower, 59.99 euros. Another option is the Ultimate edition, for the most fans of the popular video game. This exclusive edition will be the most expensive, with a price of 99.99 euros for Xbox and Play. The PC version has a price set at 79.99 euros.
