According to the press service of the regional Investigative Directorate, the crime was committed on the afternoon of June 11 this year on the outskirts of Blagoveshchensk.
While intoxicated, the defendant got into an altercation with a random passerby whom he did not even know. It was not possible to resolve the dispute verbally. The man then grabbed a wooden stick and hit his opponent with several strong blows to the head. As a result of his injuries, the victim died a short time later.
The defendant in the criminal case fully admitted his guilt in committing the crime. It turned out that he had previously been convicted several times for robbery and drug trafficking.
The man was detained during the investigation. The final sentence will be determined by the court.
