A person on the federal wanted list was detained in Irkutsk on suspicion of terrorism – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

According to law enforcement officials, for several years the Irkutsk resident shared the opinions of supporters of a terrorist organization banned in Russia. In fact, he was recruiting citizens of one of the neighboring countries, inciting them through communication on social networks to armed conflicts and hostilities.

The man has been on the federal wanted list for a long time, the regional headquarters of the Russian Investigative Committee clarified. During a search of the citizen’s home, mobile phones and documents of interest to investigators were confiscated.

The suspect has been charged with inciting and participating in terrorist activities. It is known that his relative was a member of one of the terrorist organizations, added the regional department of the Ministry of the Interior.
