The American couldn’t withstand a perfect body blow.

The UFC Fight Night tournament continues in the United States. On the preliminary card, Russian fighter Roman Kopylov appeared in the cage. In the middleweight division, our compatriot had a three-round fight with the American Josh Fremd.

Roman signed with the UFC with an 8-0 record and the Fight Night Global title. But in the best league in the world, the start was not the best: first, Roman lost by referee decision to Karl Roberson, and then lost by choke to his compatriot Albert Duraev. After that, Roman changed training camps, began to prepare for fights in Dagestan and won three first victories: the Russian knocked out Alessio di Chirico, Punaele Soriano and Claudio Ribeiro.

We study the biography of our boy.

A village boy and an officer of the Russian Guard. Roman Kopylov is the most modest UFC fighter in Russia

Today Kopylov’s opponent is American Josh Fremd. It is interesting that his professional path to the UFC is similar to that of the Russian. Fremd debuted in the organization in April 2022 and started with two losses. After that, Josh defeated Cedric Dumas by choke and then defeated Jamie Pickett by decision.

The opening round of the fight between Kopylov and Fremd turned out to be a shooting round. In the first half of the five-minute period, the combatants exchanged strikes from range and used low kicks. In the second half of the round, Kopylov began to punch more and several times Roman landed precise series of punches on his hands. Josh made several attempts to stand up, but the Russian held them off. In the final seconds of the round, Kopylov landed an excellent elbow and nearly knocked his opponent down.

Roman continued to attack in the second five minutes: a powerful uppercut landed right on Fremd’s nose, but the American continued standing. Josh, as in the first round, tried to save himself in the fight, but Kopylov calmly coped with his opponent’s takedowns. In the standing position, the Russian was noticeably superior to his opponent, several times Fremd was close to falling, at the same time, Kopylov did not rush to finish off his opponent, but acted quite calmly.

The American missed a lot, but he stayed on his feet, although it cost Fremd a lot. Kopylov hit him in the body several times, Josh felt these blows, and Roman continued to hit him in the liver. As a result, the Russian achieved his goal: at the end of the second round, Kopylov cut his opponent with a precise blow to the body and Fremd could not continue the fight. Roman Kopylov earned his fourth consecutive early victory and enters the top 15 of the UFC middle division. It’s time to test yourself against the best.
